Subjects Taught: 6th Grade Social Studies and CAMP

In
Social Studies the students will explore different aspects of the ancient
world. 6th graders will learn geography skills, and study ancient
civilizations.
C.A.M.P.
is a class where gifted students will expand their understanding of technology,
team building, organizational skills, personal learning style, communication,
leadership, social skills, problem solving. They will also be involved with
individual Social Studies and research projects.
CLASSROOM PROCEDURES
Students
are greeted at the door by the teacher. Students quickly and quietly navigate
to their assigned seats. Social Studies classes begin each period with 10
minutes of AR silent reading time. Once reading is completed, the teacher discusses
the lesson on the board with the students. After this, the teacher starts the
lesson for the day's objective.

Homework assignments turned in on
time in classroom format will receive full credit. After a week, no credit is
given. If a student is absent they will receive as many days to make up the
missed work as they have been gone.
