We are having a wonderful year. Students continue to read and this is very exciting news!

We will be working on the Arizona State Standards for reading with an emphasis on different genres of literature and thinking critically about what we read. We will be spending a considerable amount of time on understanding nonfiction text.

CLASSROOM PROCEDURES

Students are greeted at the door by the teacher. Students quietly navigate to their assigned seat or grouping. They then quietly start the mindset listed on the board. The teacher takes roll, stamps students' stamp sheet, and then discusses the day’s activities with the students. After this, the teacher may begin group work or whole group instruction.

All work must be in complete sentences for credit.

CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS

    Respect the teacher's right to teach.
    Respect the student's right to learn.
Come prepared with all necessary materials.
Respect school property.
Be polite, friendly and cooperative. No cruelty, rudeness, meanness, or violent behavior will be tolerated.

     *   Required A.R. Book

Homework is due the following class after assigned. If a student is absent for regular classwork, the assignment will be due the next day.

He/she will have until the next class to turn in the assignment for 60% credit. After three days, no credit will be given for late assignments
