Our class will be learning about United States history. The class will cover from before the Revolutionary War to World War II. Students will be learning about the United States Constitution,  the framers of the constitution, the beginnings of our country though the 18th and mid 19th century with a in depth study of the  American Civil War. We will continue our historical exploration with the study of the West in the 1800’s and the end of 19th century that ended with the Spanish –American War. The beginning of 20th century will focus on social and economic changes as our country becomes involved in the Great War (World War I). We will study the second Industrial Revolution with the advent of the automobile and mass production. The prosperous times in the 1920’s, the stock market crash in October 1929 leading to the Great Depression of the 1930’s. We will study the Great Depression in some detail as we lead into the 1940’s and World War II. World War II, the leaders, the countries involved will all be studied in great detail.






CLASSROOM PROCEDURES

Students are greeted at the door by the teacher. Students quickly and quietly navigate to their assigned seat. They then quietly start the mindset (mini-assignment) listed on the board. The teacher takes roll, stamps students' stamp sheet, and then discusses the lesson on the board with the students. After this, the teacher starts the lesson for the day's objective.

 

CLASSROOM PROCEDURES & EXPECTATIONS

    Respect the teacher's right to teach.
    Respect your fellow student's right to learn.
Come prepared with all necessary materials.
Respect school property.
Be polite, friendly and cooperative. No cruelty, rudeness, meanness, or violent behavior will be tolerated.

     * 3 Sharpened Pencils, eraser. 2 pens (pens are not required, but a good idea)
     *   Notebook binder and paper
     *   Agenda and Stampsheet
     *   Required textbooks

Homework assignments turned in on time, in classroom format, in pen or pencil with each question neatly attempted, receives full credit and a yes stamp. Late or incomplete work receives half credit and a no stamp. After the week, no credit is given unless absent. As many days as a student is absent, is as many days as the student has to make up the missed work.
