Class Description

The TLC classes are aligned with students' IEP goals. Classes are individualized as much as possible and are designed to improve students' basic skills in each area.

Classroom Procedures

Students will be greeted at the door by me or my aide. Students quietly navigate to their assigned seats; quietly start writing in their journal. I will take roll and start the lesson for the day's objective after they have finished the 15 minute journal exercise.

Classroom Rules

Respect the teacher's right to teach.
Respect the students' right to learn
Come prepared to learn with all necessary materials.
 Respect school property.
 Be polite, friendly and cooperative.

Behavior Issues

Students will be given a verbal warning, and in-class time out or “Alone Zone” will be utilized. Students will need to complete “My Action Plan” in order to leave the area. A student can however place him or herself in “The Alone Zone” for a limited amount of time if he or she requires time to regroup after a stressful situation. This can be done without consequence to the student.

Class Materials

Pen or pencil and eraser (pencil is required for Math assignments)
